Royal Decree 87/2025, of February 11, which sets the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI) for 2025, has been published in the Official State Gazette.
Effective January 1st 2025, the minimum interprofessional wage is set at 1,184 euros for 14 payments, 16,576 euros per yearan increase of 4.41% with respect to the minimum wage set for 2024.
As for domestic workers, the minimum monthly salary is set at 1,184 euros for 14 payments and the minimum salary for hourly domestic workers will be 9.26 euros per hour actually worked.
As this increase in minimum wage has retroactive to January 1st 2025, during the month of February, all workers who are on the minimum interprofessional wage will have to pay the salary differences arising from the month of January..
